Olive oil and fresh herbs create a flavorful bread topping that is a healthy alternative to buttered bread. Use this combination to dress up a loaf of French bread and serve with pasta or a hearty stew.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise
Instructions
Combine the olive oil and rosemary in a small saucepan and heat until fragrant. Brush on the inside of each bread half. Rejoin the halves and wrap the loaf in foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until the sides and top are lightly browned.
