Herb Hummus

This Mediterranean dip favorite is easy to make at home. Use fresh basil, chives and mint from your garden. Pair the herb hummus with pita bread or crudités.

Yield: 2 ½ cups.

Ingredients

  • 3 (15-ounce) cans chickpeas
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • ¾ cup tahini
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • ¼ cup each chopped fresh basil, chives, and mint, or some other mixture of these herbs depending on your taste
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper

Instructions

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Add more lime juice and salt, if desired. May make ahead and refrigerate overnight before serving.
