Use a garden trowel to dig-up the soil where you are planting your cabbage.</li><li>Take a spade or shovel and dig a small hole in the middle of the loosened soil. If you don't have enough space, plant your cabbage in a large container or pot.</li><li>Remove your cabbage plant from its Bonnie container and loosen the soil around its roots.</li><li>The cabbage plant should be set deep in the hole, planting it up to the first or second leaf.</li><li>Fill in the hole around your plant with soil. Press down firmly on the soil around your plant to make sure no air pockets are around the plant's root.</li><li>Leave at least three feet of growing space around your cabbage.</li><li>Sprinkle some all-purpose vegetable fertilizer around the base of your cabbage plant to give it plenty of nutrients and minerals to grow healthy.</li><li>Use a watering can or garden hose with a sprinkler to gently water your plant.</li><li>Cold weather can damage your cabbage.
