Dress up your patio with this eye-catching edible ornamental. Unusual pink blooms fade to form plump, sweet, medium-size strawberries. The harvest stretches all season long, with fruits ripening from late spring until frost. Heaviest fruiting occurs in late spring to early summer (depending on your zone) and fall. Plants produce few to no runners, which allows them to direct their energy into making more berries. Heaviest harvests occur the second year.
Berries are delicious eaten fresh and can also be used for tarts, soup, or preserves. Use Tristan strawberry to edge ornamental planting beds or vegetable growing areas. This strawberry is a favorite for containers, including hanging baskets and patio pots. For best berry production, choose a pot that holds at least one gallon of soil.
Some Bonnie Plants varieties may not be available at your local stores, as we select and sell varieties best suited to the growing conditions in each region.
