Cubanelle Pepper
- Fruit size: 5 inches long
- Matures: 62 to 65 days
This yellow-green to red tapered fruit is prized for a sweet, mild flesh that is growing in popularity because of its rich flavor and pretty colors for frying and cooking. The thin-walled pepper is especially suited for quick cooking. Popular in dishes of Spanish, Italian, and Slavic descent, many cooks prefer it to bell types. In the garden, Cubanelle peppers are unique, often growing in imperfect shapes and changing color from green to shades of orange to red. Don't be surprised if the some of the peppers curl and twist a bit. No two seem to ever be alike. It's part of of their charm. Space transplants 18 inches apart in rows 30 inches apart.
Some Bonnie Plants varieties may not be available at your local stores, as we select and sell varieties best suited to the growing conditions in each region.

- My favorite pepper to grow & eat Review by Bama

I've grown these peppers for years and they are great. Plants are beautiful and prolific if given a little compost and TLC which is a pleasure. Moved from North FL. to KY and have found I should start from seed here. Neighbors loved them too. Sweet easy to cook or freeze. Get ya some! (Posted on 5/4/12)Taste Yield

- Looking forward to trying again Review by MrHaslam

Last year I grew peppers for the first time. The plants grew beautifully, but I didn't get the yield I believe I should have due to less than ideal conditions. The plants got about 6 hours of direct sunlight and I believe I would have gotten more if I had a better planting situation. The ones I did harvest were really good. Very sweet! I am going to try them again with a better garden plot. Wish me luck! (Posted on 4/11/12)Taste Yield
