Sweet 'n' Neat Cherry Tomato

The smallest tomato plant we sell, Sweet 'n' Neat is the exception to the rules about container sizes. One plant fits in a small, 10-inch container, even a hanging basket.

Sweet 'n' Neat Cherry Tomato

 |
  • Fruit Size: 3/4 to 1 ounce
  • Matures: 48 days
  • Plant Size: 10 inches tall, 8 inches wide
  • Plant type: Compact determinate

Sweet ā€˜n’ Neat is the perfect pick for balconies or other extra-small garden spaces. You can even try growing it in a sunny windowsill. The prolific plant sets fruit in grape-like clusters. Its narrow spread means it can fit in smaller containers than any other tomato we offer. Plant 1 per 10-inch container or plant 2 or more in a larger container.

Some Bonnie Plants varieties may not be available at your local stores, as we select and sell varieties best suited to the growing conditions in each region.

Fantastic! Review by Susie

I planted them in the fall of 2012 and had a fantastic yield. When frost days began being frequent, I uprooted the plant, hung it upside down in the garage, and continued to have ripening tomatoes for weeks! (Posted on March 12, 2013)

Great! Review by Susie

I found these to be quite tasty and very high yield when I planted them in September. Had to bring them in and hang the plant upside down to finish ripening, but that worked great!

So-So! Review by GreatGardens

Grew these from Bonnie plants and from F1 seed last year. OK, but lacks taste compared to Red Robin, Tumbler, and other container varieties. In particular, it lacked both sweetness and "tang." (Posted on January 5, 2013)

Great little plants. Review by Judy

These good hardy little plants. They hold up well in the heat and produce tomatoes all summer long. The tomatoes are larger than a Sweet 100. The taste is great, not too acid, but not to mild either. (Posted on December 30, 2012)
