The Potunia series of petunias boast a mounding habit and a full canopy of blooms. They last all season, well after other petunia varieties have faded in the summer heat. Originally from South America, petunias have become a beloved summer flower, especially prized for hanging baskets and containers. Use them in the landscape, too, to fill borders and beds with color. Potunia is fairly drought-tolerant and holds up in all types of weather. Water as needed to keep soil evenly moist and fertilize weekly. Pinch off spent blooms to encourage blooming all season.
