Sequoia Strawberry

  • Light: Full sun
  • Type: Junebearing; perennial in zones 4 to 8
  • Plant spacing: 18 inches apart
  • Plant size: 8 to 10 inches tall, 18 inches wide

This excellent home garden variety yields exceptionally large, dark red fruit from late spring through autumn. Although it is officially considered Junebearing, Sequoia strawberry plants produce like an everbearing strawberry in mild climates, putting on berries throughout the warm season.

The berries are firm at first and soften as they enlarge. Resistant to powdery mildew. Sequoia strawberry plants are widely adapted, being recommended in gardens from California to Utah to Florida. Plant so that crown is just above soil level.

Some Bonnie Plants varieties may not be available at your local stores, as we select and sell varieties best suited to the growing conditions in each region.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strawberries Are Amazing So they're ripening.. I got one of these plants that were only sold in two states. My porch isn't zone 4-8 its 11 but thats okay. I'll get at least one good strawberry cause it's ripening right now. I'm so excited to have my first strawberry. As soon as I planted it the runner didn't take and some of the outer leaves are dying off. But the new shoots are coming up from the mother plant and I have many strawberry fruits coming on.
