Strawberries with Blueberries and Sweet Yogurt

You’ll love the taste of this fresh watermelon salad. It’s the perfect first course for a summer party or covered dish for a cookout. If you’re making this salad ahead of time, wait to add the salt until ready to serve, or let everyone add their own. This will keep the watermelon crisp longer.

Yield :   4 – 5  servings


  • 3 cups halved strawberries
  • 12 cups blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • ¼ cup cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon peach preserves
  • Chopped walnuts


  • Combine the strawberries and blueberries in a bowl. Stir in the sugar, lime juice and orange zest. Combine the yogurt, cottage cheese and peach preserves in a small food processor and process until smooth.
  • Spoon the fruit into individual serving dishes and top with the yogurt mixture. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
A healthy dessert alternative, this berry compote is topped with a sweet yogurt mixture. Add chopped walnuts and enjoy!
