On July 27, 2013 Bonnie Plants was proud to support the American Heart Association (AHA) Teaching Gardens as they took part in Variety’s Power of Youth in Hollywood, California, an event held to honor young celebrities who have made significant contributions to charitable causes. Oscar-nominated actress Quvenzhane Wallis, star of the film Beasts of the Southern Wild, was recognized for her contribution to the AHA Teaching Gardens. Bonnie Plants was on hand to assist with the building of the Teaching Gardens’ raised beds and give each attendee a live vegetable or herb plant to take home.

Bonnie Plants supports the AHA Teaching Gardens by providing seedlings for initial garden plantings at elementary schools across the country. Through caring for these gardens, children not only learn the value of growing and harvesting their own food, but also begin to understand the value of good eating habits.

Allow us to share with you some of our favorite moments from the Power of Youth event!
