Bonnie Original hybrid was developed especially for us decades ago and continues to be a favorite. It has earned a reputation for exceptional flavor and high yields throughout the growing season. The medium-sized slicing tomatoes are great for sandwiches, hors d’oeuvres, and salads. Indeterminate vines yield smooth, uniform fruit through the summer until frost. This is the one that Bonnie employees grow at home.

Resistant to verticillium wilt (V), fusarium wilt (F), and nematodes (N).

Some Bonnie Plants varieties may not be available in your local area, due to different variables in certain regions. Also, if any variety is a limited, regional variety it will be noted on the pertinent variety page.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last year was the first time we tried this type of tomato and it did not get the TLC it should have because we were on the road so much of the summer. Despite this, two plants gave us an ABUNDANT yield of about 120 pounds of delicious, medium sized tomatoes that were good for sandwiches, salads or just eating! I planted them indoors and now have 25 plants ready to go in the ground (for us and anyone else I can share them with). Am very excited to see how well they produce this year! Love this variety!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good: I have only had a green thumb for herbs so when I decided to yet again try to grow tomatoes I didn't expect success. I planted the Bonnie Original in a raised bed facing S/SW. Even though we had an exceptionally wet season, I had a bushel-load of juicy, ripe, lovely-tasting tomatoes. I am so proud of myself! My family loved the size, taste, and plentiful yield.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am a beginner...I started off with 6 tomato plants. This one produced more tomatoes by far than any of the others, and, it's December and I just picked 6 more yesteday, and there are still flower buds on the plant (I live in Southern California). I have been neglecting this plant for a few months now and it is still producing! I'm planting this one again next will be hard to beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I planted this variety for the first time last year in Utah. I was delighted at the yield and quality of the tomatoes. I was overflowing with just one plant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First tomato of this season and by far the most flavorful of any we've grown since living in Orlando

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, but not quite great.: I've grown this for two successive years. It is a moderate-sized indeterminate plant with medium-sized tomatoes. It is a steady, but not huge producer. Crack resistance is about average for a hybrid. Flavor is fine -- not too acidic and not too sweet. Will I grow it again? Yes, most definitely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this tomato! Great producer, crack and disease resistant and wonderful tangy tomato taste. This is my second summer growing this one. Fruit isn't too big, a little bigger than a golf ball for me. Didn't get as crazy tall as my German Johnston growing next to it, easier to stake. I will plant another next spring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Extremely susceptible to blossom end rot, despite adding dolomite, hydrated lime, and calcium nitrate. Sitting next to Better Boy (perfect), more than half of the tomatoes have been lost before reaching golf ball size. I will never try these again.
