* Starting your own seedlings is not recommended because they can be difficult to transplant. Purchase seedlings or direct sow. In colder climates, start seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. Plant seedlings 4-6 weeks before the last frost, and again 6-8 weeks before the first frost for a fall harvest.
